diaries A. Mason, F 1VC (rjgilt), son of Mr. and Mrs. Jesse Mason, 130 E, Third street, this city, enlisted in the Navy Jn August, 1942 and received recruit- training at Sampson, N. Y. He was sent to Iceland and at the end of nine months service there was transferred to a base in Florida where he attended a Diesel engine school. He is now serving aboard a destroyer escort somewhere in the South Pacific area. Charles attended the local public schools and prior to joining the Navy was employed at Sun shipyard. His brother; Pvl. Hurry-Mawm, is .serying with’Lhe Allied troops in France.s.O ZJ •
