R. Andrews, president of the Women’s Union Label League, said she received a telephone message that baking company cookies, which the P. T. A. had bought to serve at the open house, would not be served. Consequently, no pickets appeared at the building.The label league • objected to the cookies because the company which V|1 made them is operating behind a picket line at Joplin,Refreshments were not served until after a brief program. Then punch was passed out in paper cups. The cookies, stacked in a hallway near the punch table, did not make their appearance, however, until after Mrs. Andrews and reporters had left the building.Thirty minutes later, Mrs, A. L, Weisor, president of the high school P, T.
