VOLUME XLII. No. 3’FUNERAL SERVICES FOR WAR HERO TODAYCapt. Victor H. Nysewander, Killed in Battle at Argonne Forrest.Funeral services for Captain Victor H. Nysewander, who was killed in the battle at Argonne forest, November 4, 191S, will e held at the Christian church at iliis place this (Thursday) afternoon a; 2 o’clock. The bodyar-j rived here l.ite Saturday, having come, from New York city where it was kept a few days after being shipped from France.Capt. Nysewander, who was 31 years of age, was a son of Mr. and Mrs. J. D. Nysewander of Guilford township. He attended the grade school at th:s place and attended high school at Ben Davis. Later he was graduated from the law school at Ann Arbor, Mich., and practiced law a few years in Tampa, Fla. Prior to his enlistment he raveled as a salesman for the Bobbs-M errill Publishing Co.He enlisted in the army and was commissioned first lieutenant at the second officers’ training camp at Ft. Harrison. He was transferred to the 90th division and left from San Antonio, Tex., for overseas service. He was gassed during the battle of St. Mihiel and spent several weeks in a hospital. He was commissioned a captain at tlia.fi time.The Nysewander post of the American Legion, which was named in honor of Ca rt. Nysewander, will conduct military services at the grave immediately following the funeral service at the church. The body will be interred at Maple Hill cemetery.The immediate relatives who survive besides the parents are: Sisters,Mrs. Eli K. Anderson of Guilford township, Mi s. John Paul of Indianapolis, and broihers, Joe Nysewander of Indianapolis, Rufus and Kenneth Nysewander of Guilford township.HIGH SCHODL CLASS WILL WORK
