Three of its companies were from McLean county and one from the Normal university. The first Colonel was Charles E. Hovey, President of the Normal University.A tent has been erected on the grounds and the veterans of this regiment are having a delightful season of visiting an • recalling thrilling reminiscences of the desperate days of the rebellion. A meeting was held yesterday ami another to-day. Last evening the “boys” met with comrade Ela at his office *iu the court house basement where the presence of (Jen. Llppincotl, Second Colonel, created great enthusiasm. Another meeting will be held at So’clok this evening. The general feeling seems to be in favor of the publication of a book containing historical aud biographical tacts of this regiment and a committee has been appointed to uevise some good plan, the following gentlemen compose thethe commute*: Gen.
