From the 8th Kegimetit.Leonord Smith of Co. E., 8.h Regiment, arrived at Sandusky last, evening, having left Grafton Thursday at 12 o'clock. He looks well and hearty enough for half a dozen more campaigns in Western Virginia. He came with the body of Lyman Smith, a member of Co. E, who died of typhoid fever. Luman Smith, brother of the deceased, came in also, haring been unwell for some time and not yet I q recovered, though impcoving. He has leave I flt;of absence until he is thoroughly’ recoveredBoth Lyman and Luman Smith were fromthe vicinity of the Seven Mile House, and thebody of the deceased was taken there for bu-riLCompany E, with the exception of four or j ^five, are t il well and in good spirits. Thosewho are sick are reported as in good condition and improving. The 8th Regiment is princi- | pally at New Creek, seven companies being there and the remaining companies elsewhere on special duty.
