Meeting for Tuesday, September 17, to Select new-Officers.To Serve RefreshmentsOn next Tuesday night members of Carnie Welch-Ruben Siffihg post of the American legion will assemble at the legion hall for the purpose of selecting officers for the ensuing term, according to announcement made today by Wayne Sisemore, post commander.The meeting will be called to order at 7:30 o’clock and following the business session refreshments will be served.A yearly report on activities of tho W61ch-Siffing post will be made by Commander Sisemore and his cowork-ers.A membership drive will be staged following the meeting Tuesday and it has been suggested that two membership teams be put in the field, one representing the east side of the county and the other the west side and the losing team to entertain. Sallisaw will be the dividing point, one half of the town will be with the west side' team and the other half the east side. In this way Commander Sisemore said he hopes to instill sufficient interest among the ex-service men to havea real live post and something the legionnaire will support.Delegates sent to Ponca City by the Welch-Siffing post have returned home and a report will be made by them. The local post' supported the winning candidate for state commander and also threw their influence behind Raymond Fields of Guthrie for national committeeman.
