PROMOTED IN VIETNAM - Lawrence W. Shinnick, right, son of Mrs. Bessie M. Shinnick, 231 East Church Street, is shown receiving the silver eagles signifying his promotion to Colonel In the USAF during ceremonies at Mia Trang AB in Vietnam. Col. William K. Bush, commander of the 14th Special Operations Wing makes the presentation. Col. Shinnick, who is a Frederick High school graduate, is assistant director for operations for the 14th wing at Nha Trang. Col. Shinnick’s father, Lawrence W. Shinnick Sr. resides in Bel Air.
