Elmer J PaceSgi. Elmer James Pace, son of Mr. and Mrs. Manley J. Pace of Aransas Pass, received a promotion io the rank of sergeant August 21st at the Altus Army Air Field, Altus, Okla.. where he is stationed with the 453rd Base Headquarters and Air Base Squadron.Sergeant Pace, a 1942 graduate of the Aransas Pass High School, was employed as a civil service sheet metal worker at the Corpus Christi Navai Air Station prior to his enlistment in the army air corps in November, 1942 at Fort Sam Hous-ton. He received his basic training at Kelly Field in San Antonio and was transferred to the Altus air field in December of last year.
