Army, arrived in the Sault last night from Fort Sheridan. 111., and today two of the lights were to be placed on the St. Mary’s Falls canal for further protection of the canal and Great Lakes shipping against possible destruction because of the European war.The lights, mounted on trucks upon which they operate independ. entlv of any power line, were to be placed this afternoon. The third light will not be placed on the canal immediately, due to the burning out of a bearing on the trip tothe Sault.
