Pilot Reported As Satisfactory After CrashLIMESTONE (AP) - A jet pilot pulled unconscious from his burning 5106 Delta Da? interceptor after a take-off crash is reported in satisfactory condition at Loring Air Force Base.A base spokesman said !apt. Clarence Brown, 31, of Hickory, N.C. apparently escaped serious injury Tuesday, and hispresence of mind in an emergency can be thanked for that.Officials believe that Brown opened the canopy of jet fighter before it cracked up. He was knocked unconscious by the crash, but Air Force men in the area pulled him from the cockpit as the $3. million aircraft burst into flames.Base authorities said a malfunction during the take-off apparently caused the crash.. They said it could not be determined whether the jet was airborne atthe time.
