Experiencing one of its biggest days of the month, the U. S. Navy Recruiting station here transferred twenty men to Dallas yesterday for enlistment in five different branches of Navy service, Bos’n J. E. Calloway, officer in charge, reported.Six of the men were to be interviewed today for ratinga as petty officers in the Navy construction regiment Three enlisted in the Naval Reserve as apprentice seamen for immediate training and duty, six for Naval avia- . tion pilot training, four for ClassV-l, the accredited college reserve class, and one in Class V-7 for officer training.Hop# It's Typical Day“We hope that this will turn out to be just a typical day for enlistments throughout September,0 Calloway said, pointing out that this station is expected to examine and transfer at least 191 men this month, not including those for pilot training or officer training.“We need more and more men in the general service department, men who will go immediately for military training and be ready for action. We need men for all classes, of course, but the demand right now is greater for those who want immediate action.**Applying for apprentice seaman training in the Naval Reserve were Stewart B.. Collier and Charles Ralph Stevens of Brown-field and Robert Tresan Tyler of Floydada.Seeking ratings in the construction regiment today are Troy Eugene Alexander and Edward Asberry Kilpatrick of Floydada, Wiliiam Leiand May of Lockney, Richard Elbert Foster of Shallo-water and William Vinson Boreing of Littlefield.
