W.Newnan, Oa», Sept. 3.—Friend Early:—I thought I would dropj you a few line* to lot you know that I’m still living. Our regiment (16th Inf.) is going to New York on Tuesday or Wednesday next. We are glad to get to move for this is a sicklier place than I ever thought it would be. We will stop in Washington City and parade and then go on to New York to be mustered out. Then we’ll all go home. All the Perry County Ijoys here are well but are sore because they did not get to the. front. I am myself. Send the paper here to Georgia.Will drop you a card soon. Regards to all the bflys. I hopeI’ll get home in time to vote.We are always glad to get the“old reliable” Telephone.10th Inf. Geo. Davenport.
