The boys all tried to do their best and the result was very amusing.None of them seemed to know which was right or left, aod were continually falling over each other In their efforts to obey orders. They are a fine looking lot of men ana no doubt will serve their country with credit.Captain Robert Loughborough, of Fort Bliss, reviewed and instructed the officers and men in regard to the duties required of them.Lieut. Curry says the regiment is complete and that he can enlist no more men until further orders.A great many fine looking men who desire to serve their country made application this morning and were greatly. disappointed when informed thatenlistment had closed.Owing to the inability of the railroad to furnish sleepers the troops will not get away until tomorrow, when they will have through tourist sleepers.GRAND SEND OFF.Col. Si Ryan took it upon himself his morning to see that the soldier boys are given a grand send off when they depart tomorrow for far-off Manila.The idea occurred to him to get out the McGintys and arrange for a few patriotic speeches. Accordingly he started a subscription list by putting theAstor House down for 825 and canvassing among a few of the business firms. In a short time he had raised 847.It will cost 850 to get the band to come out and for the entire celebration Iabout $75.It is proposed to have a parade ledby the band tomorrow afternoon at2:30 o’clock. The parade will form in fror.t of tbe Lindell on Oregon street and the band will start from in front of tbe Palace drug store and move to theLindell.The line of march will be down Overland to El Paso street, north on El Paso to San Antonio, East on San Antonio to Stanton, north on Stanton to the S. P. depot where Mayor Magoffin, Captain Beall and others will make short speeohes.A platoon of police will escort the soldiers to the depot and carriages in the procession will be provided for the mayor and orators.An invitation is extended to all citizens to fall in line and help swell the parade or to assemble at the depot.The train for the west, bearing the soldiers toward the other side of the earth starts at 3:45 o’clock p. m., city time.PERSONALSL.
