Frank Bahleda i n Service Five YearsFrank Bahleda. SFIC-DT, is back from the navy now after five years of war service, most of it overseas and in some of the very hottest spota of ocean fighting and invasion beaches, He was discharged at Mare Island, Cal., August 28, and came home this week to his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Frank Bahleda, 4111 Drum.1 mond street.And the first thing Frank did af-ter his return was to report to the j Washington high school for re-enrollment in the junior class so that he might complete his education so rudely and ruthlessly, interrupted by tjie war.He's a little older now than he was when he left but It is not yet too late to finish his schooling, he feels, and he has seen a lot of things that make‘him all the more earnest in his deBire to get a Hood education and forget the war.Frank, a former carrier boy of The Calumet News, served on some mighty big battle wagons during bis navy career, including the Nashville, the President Monroe, the Sandoval and LST 776.He spent 488 months overseas at such hot spots in the Pacific as Okinawa, Iwo Jima, and many other , plages earlier in the campaign.
