ObituaryWilliam Joseph KolesarWilliam Joseph of Rapid City passed away Aug. 15,1994, after a courageous battle with cancer, at the age of 71 years. Born in Neepawa to William and Annie Kolesar, Billie spent his early years In Kelwood and Detroit; Billie served his country in the Canadian Army with, first, the Queen’s Own Cam eron Highlanders, then as a member of the Winnipeg Rifles during the Second World War. He received his honorable discharge in 1946 after serving in Canada, Britain and Northwest Europe. Billie married Phyllis Andrew in 1949 and together they raised four sons onthe farm at Kelwood. They moved to Brandon in 1973, where he worked as a heavy equipment operator in (ha area before retiring to Reprd City in 19B3. Besides being a farmer, Billie's talents were seen ■ in his work as a welder, mfltwright, heavy equipment operator and mechanic. In fats retirement years, he enjoyed walking through thdvatisy near his home with his constant companion, his dog Brandy, searching for the big buck to target in hunting season.He was predeceased by his father William in 1955, andhis brother-in-law and friend, William McFaul in 1993. Left to mourn his passing are; his wife of 44 years, PhyHis, sonsTeny (Doreen), Willie (Vera), Bernie (Cheryl) and Mark (Dianne), 11 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. Also survived by his mother Annie and sisters Dorothy McFaul and Bernice Kolesar.Graveside service was hekJ Aug. 18at Kelwood Cemetery. Donations in Billie's memory may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
