I The president, J. M. Coulter, (called the-meeting to order and the secretaries* reports were read. The memorial service was then conducted by the President, Mrs. F. E. and Orpha Coulter. Kenneth Lyle Vaughn, son of the late Wm. and Hernia Lamm Vaughn, was born in Bureau Twp., July 11, 1913 and passed away June 1 9, 1942, in military service in the North Atlantic area. He enlisted in August, 1940, in the 61st Coast Artillery at Ft. Sheridan, 111., and was stationed there until war was declared. He left the U. S. Feb. 1 6, 1942 for Iceland. He leaves his wife, to whom he was married last November; a sister, Mrs. Geo. Gerdevj of Sterling; Grandma Atkins and aunt, Mrs. Fred Put team p. near Princeton; an uncle. Lyle Vaughn of Tiskilwa and 11 nephews and nieces. Full military honors were given, that are due any man in the service. Themessage from the War departmentsaid his death , caused by gun shot wounds in the head, occurred somewhere in Iceland waters; but whether it was an encounter with a submarine or planes or what, may notbe known for sometime. The president asked us all to stand in respect to our soldier boy who has ' given his life.
