To say that it was a success does not tell “the whole of it” for it was by far the largest gathering of people that has ever takcu placein Crawford county. Thb Democrat in its last issue was correct in predicting a record breaker as far as the number of people was to be considered. The crowd present on Thursday, which was the big day of the week was variously estimated at trom 6,000 to 12,000, but be it as it may as for actual number, theie was an awful surging sweltering crowd at every point you could go, One might as well face the “jam” in the street laid off between the tents and stands on the grounds as to try to seek comtort in some shady spot anywhere nearby, for all were taken. Hundred of wagons lined the different roads for a half mile in every direction from the camp grounds.
