Frank Smelser Post No 6 of IslingtonThe people of l^xington and surrounding area would like to salute this post of 80 members for making a dream come true Ttie wanted to do something for the community, so they decided to build a Youth Rodeo Arena With the financing and help of Its members, the Arena was started in 1973 Other towns folks began showing up to help on work nights and donation from its towns people and area communities began to come in to help with this worthwhile project Tin* first Youth Rodeo was held on May 4. 1974 Since then there have been 2 more Youth Rodeos, a Central Texas Cutting Horse Contest, an Open Playday. and a 411 Horse Club with Calf roping. Barrel racing, pole bending. Western Pleasure and a drill team being taught.
