For single-handedly destroying a Jap machine gun neat, S/Sgt.Morris Pratt, son of Mr. and Mrs. Charles Pratt, 6223 Van Buren Av, has been awarded the Bronze Star, according to word received by his mother.Tht? action occurred on Okinawa last April 10 when Sgt Pratt was in command of a squad The sergeant also has the Purple Heart. He graduated from Hammond High end entered the Army three years ago. He has been overseas for 16 months, seeing his first active service on Leyte.M. Pratt
