Our National Guard,It is very pleasing to note^ the manykind words which are now being spoken/or the Wyoming National Guard, as His now being handled under the guidanco of Adjutant General P A Gatchel!There are man) strong points brought mt points showing that our citizen eol diery is acquiring an advanced standing aa a military organization not onl among our own citizens, but with the officers of the regular armv, with whom it has been brought in touch General Gatchell has hih whole heart and soul centered in, the work and his aim is to perfect the organization to a h gh atandard, which ambition he is rapidb accomplishingThe tax payers of Wyoming have rea son to foe! proud of its National Guard and especiail) as its maintenance is car ried on at a minimum cost and the men are compelled to servo for the cause without the inducements held out by many states The day of the soldier whose ambition it was to wear gold lace is rapidly disappearing, and m his place we find the officer who has the subatan tial qualities -always on the alert to ad vance his military knowledge, and when the opportunity presents itself he is jolly on the spot and doesn t Rtop to ahme hie shoes or part his hair
