Jean E. (McMahon) ShadeAvid gardenerJean E. Shade, 75. of 1409 Penn Street. Huntingdon, died at 12:35 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 28, 1999, at herhome. Death 'was unexpected.Born June 27, 1924, in BarrccTownship, she was the daughter of James and Bessie (Staley) McMa-hon. She married David W. Shade Jan, 19, 1946 in Huntingdon. Hepreceded her in death on April I,1956.Mrs. Shade is survived by her daughter, Mrs. George (Shirley) David of Huntingdon, R.D. 2.She is also survived by six broth* crs and sisters. They are: Maude E. Fry, Petersburg, R.D. I; MelvinMcMahon, McConncllstown; Gladys McMahon. State College; BettyPeters. Bellefonte; Kathleen Way, Port Matilda, and Chalmers McMahon, Lcmont.She was preceded in death by two brothers, Woodrow McMahonand Glenn McMahon.Mrs. Shade was a member of the 12th Street United Methodist Church in Huntingdon.She was employed by Huntingdon Bank Book Company and later by J.B. Kunz Company of Huntingdon. She retired on Sept. I. 1989.She enjoyed working with flowers and bird watching.Funeral services will be held Monday, Nov. 1, at 2 p.m., at the Robert E. Peters Funeral Home in Huntingdon with the Rev. Carol C. Rowe officiating. Interment willtake place in Donation Cemetery, Huntingdon, R.D. 2. Friends may call at the funeral home on Sunday, Oct. 31, after 7 p.m. and on Monday starting at 9 a.m. until the hour ofthe service.
