Donald Maier participates in Reserve tacticsFORT CAMPBELL, AY. -Spec. 4 Donald E. Maier of Oil City, a member of the 685-man task force from Fort Campbell, Ky., recently served in support of Reserve component annual training at Fort Drum, N Y.The task force, containing infantry, artillery, engineer, aviation, supply, military police and maintenance experts camped in the field with the Reserves. Basic squad and platoon maneuver tactics were on the training agenda as well as individual and crew weapon firing. Reserve readiness and skill in simulated combat conditions were evaluated.Maier, a grenadier with the 327th Infantry at the fort, entered the Army in June 1975. He Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Bernard Maier of Oil City RD 2 and a 1968 graduate of Cranberry Area High School. His wife, Susan, is at Fort Campbell.
