Zalutsky writes, “but I never thought I would live to fight that battle. Our battalion was trapped at St, Dinard for four or five days. We ate nothing but green apples and raw potatoes during that siege and I thought we would never get out alive but troops finally came up in support and we were relieved.” For holding Its position so well, Zalutsky’s battalion will be awarded the presidential unit citation.In the Army almost three years, Sgt, Zalutsky served on various details at Washington, D, C., and was an Instructor at the Infantry School, Fort Benning, Ga., for several months, He worked for the General Electric.
