THE BATTLE OF BALL’S BLUFF.SKETCHES OF THE KILLED,WOUNDED, AND MISSING-The returns of the wounded and loat at the bloody battle of Ball’s Bluff hare been not les3 meagre j than unsatisfactory. It will, perhaps, be impos3i- jble. at any time, to classify the sufferers, and make ,out a perfectly valid list,.but particularly difficult, now that even the incidents of the contest have not been portrayed, and while the stragglers and the escaped are making their way hourly into the loyal camps. Our reporters made essay, yesterday,to learn something of the oondition of the familiesof the deceased and the character of the Philadelphia volunteers in Col. Baker’s regiment.A largo number of the fallen soldiers, although attached to the Philadelphia companies, were not recruited in this city; and others residing in town could not be located, having been latterly residents of the suburbs and the interior. The most that could bo done was to trace out the returned officers and soldiers of the regiment and pitw tiieir personal knowledge of the killed, the drowned, ths weunded, and the captured. The results of such inquiries are presented below :
