TREATED TO VAUDEVILLEWINTHROP. Oct 27—The “boys” athe local fortifications were treated toshow of vaudeville, motion picturesnd boxing at the new Winthrop Thea-re last night. Aside from the enter-ainment the women presented two alking- machines and record's to the oldiers. rThe program opened with a camp cene with songs and selections by pri-’ates Russell E. Gorman, Wilfred A. dador, Joseph Cohen, Alfred Morosse tnd Alexander Thibault. Miss Maude Jurray sang in Scotch dialect and was riven a -big hand.MISS MARY T. LEONARDThe sketch by Sergt William Doyle, Corp John Murphy and privates Henry J. Collins, William W. Brooks and Thomas J. Kelly caused a long laugh as did Mrs Helen Sherry and Miss Marion Howlett in The Movie Fans. Others who contributed to the program were private AncTrew J. Donaghy. Miss Madeline Oalllvan.# private Wilfred Cheatam. private Chester A. Horn, private Myron S. Parker, Musician Harry J. Conaty, privates George Markey, Corp Alfred J. Therrlault private George I,. Johnson and private Clifton R. Moore.Preceding the last skit, the boxing contest, a group of State Guardsmen, belonging to Co A. 16th Regiment, M. S. G., marched onto the stage in an appeal for subscriptions for Liberty Bonds. Edgar F. Power was the speaker. “Jack” Sheehan, famous as a boxing referee officiated at the bouts. In the welterweight class Corp Maxwell of the 13th Company knocked out In less than two minutes mechanic Smith of the 24th Company. Private Norwood of the 19th Company won the lightweight title and private Coffey of the 24th Company in the heavyweight class.
