Carnahan, Adjutant-General of the State of Indiana, and mustering officer of the “Grand Army of the Republic” for the Department of Indiana, met the petitioners of North Vernon, at Odd Fellows Hall on Wednesday evening last, and a pest of the above named order was organized* An invitation had been extended to Ellsworth Post, at Seymour, to be present and participate in the organization, and a number of the members came over and assisted in the mustering.The following named honorably discharged soldiers were mustered: Daniel Bacon, J. Hill, Sergeant-Major. The Quartermaster appointed Henry 'noil Quartermaster-Sergeant.The Post starts out with flattering prospects, c onfident of success. It is named McKeehan Post No. 30, in honor of Major Samuel McKeehan.
