Army citeslt;t. I I an slumPlatoon Sgt. E-7 Donald L. Hanshaw, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold E. Hanshaw of 308 Hamilton, has received the Army Commendation Medal forheroism in Vietnam.He distinguished himself by valorous actions on Sept. 26, 1969, while serving as platoon leader of Company A, 1st Battalion, 508th Infantry.Hanshaw went to Vietnam on May 31, for his second tour of duty. He has been in the Army 17% years and received his basic training at Ft. Brecken-ridge, Ky.Sgt. Hanshaw’s wife, who lives at 318 S. Ward, will leave Monday to visit him at Hawaii, where he is on RR leave.
