SERGEANT HAYDEN C. FOX RECEIVES THE BRONZE STARSergeant Hayden C. Fox of East Chicago, is shown herewith as he is being congratulated by Col. Kenneth C. Jones who has just bestowed upon him the bronze star medal.Fox. a technician fourth grade in the adjutant general department, 52nd Machine Records unit (mobile), received the award at the Delta base, Marseilles. France, for meritorious service in direct support of combat operations from April 29. 1943 to May 7. 1945, In Africa. France and Germany.The sergeant formerly resid'd with his parents. Mr. and Mrs. Hayden Fox, at 3425 Grand boulevard,Indiana Harbor. He entered service October 7. 1942. and was overseas for 30 months. He won four battle stars.The citation says in part:As non-commissioned officer in charge of the key punching section of his unit T-4 Fox, with great foresight and ability, so planned the operations of enlisted men under his supervision that complete efficiency was obtained at all times.His remarkable coolness under the stress of difficult conditions and complicated tasks enabled the entire organization to perform its mission in an exemplary manner.“Entered service from East Chicago, Indiana.
