FlRltilnR In Wirt ConnCy, Vo.The Rebels Repulsed and Routed—Rebel Outrages at Burning Springs,pARKKHSnillO, Oct. 21.On Wednesday ni^l»l last a a messenger arrived at Elizabeth, Wirt county, report-ing that a party of rebels wero committing depredation* in the neighbordood of Burn-ing Springs—eight miles distance. Capt, Ilill, of the first Virginia cavalry, stationed at Elizabeth, with forty of his company started in pureuitof the rebels. When six mile* ho-! yond Elizabeth, was fired into from ibo side of a hill, close to the road, by seventy-five rebels. He returned the fire, completely routing thorn, killing twelve, wounding one, and taking five prisoners. Two of Capt. Hill's troops were wounded.On Friday night, a force of 200 rebels attacked EIj’zaIhiUj, but were repulsed by Capt. Hill, wilb tho aid of a few Home Guards; but littlo damage was dono on either side.On Saturday night tho rebel* robbed and burned several houses at Burning Springs, stealing a number of horses, etc. Capt. Hill waa reinforced Quoday morning, by' four companies of infantry from Wheeling, under command of Lieut. Col. Richmond.There are from throe to four hundred rebels in Wirt County, most of whom belong to that and adjoining counties. Col. I Richmond is now io pursuit of thorn.Lieut. Jaf. A. Lazure. Q. M. Thirteenth O. V., died hero last Friday, of typhoid fever.
