Mystery Surrounds Disappearance of Two Young GirlsPratt, Oct. 24—(VP)—Mystery surrounding me whereabouts of MonaLou Long, 13, and her niece, Edith Pearl Long, 4, deepened today when a farmer reported he had seen two girls believed to be the missing children enter a cab on the highway 1% miles east of Pratt Saturday, the day they disappeared.Police, reporting they still were without word of the girls organized searching parties to comb fields near where the youngsters were' last seen Saturday waiting along U; S. Highway 54. A soldier stationed at the Pratt Army air field told police he had seen the girls ! walking east toward Wichita.City Patrolman Paul Elliott said police over the state had been alerted to look for the two girls.Mona Lou came here with, her '■ parents, Mr. and Mrs. John. Long, Amarillo, Texas, who were called to Pratt by the serious illness of Ar-lie Long. Jr., infant son of Cpl. and Mrs. A. P. Long, Edith’s parents.Corporal Long had been stationed at the Pratt air base since September, hut was transferred to Pueblo, Colo., Saturday, a few hours beforethe girls disappeared.
