FROM EAST TENNESSEE.Attack on Colonel Wolfonf-Progreiss of General Bum Id e—Union Recruits.Louisville, Oct. 22. —The Knoxville Journal gays that the rebels attacked OoL Wolford yesterday beyond Philadelphia, Tennessee, and captured his battery of mountain howitzers and a portion of his wagon train. Our loss was about one| hand red, and we took about the same number of prisoners, and drove the enemy back beyond Philadelphia today. Whether this be a raid or a movement in force Gen. Burnside is prepared for them. We still hold our ground in the northeast part of the State. The loyal Tennesseeans are docking to Gen. Burnside’s standard faster then they can be armed. The greatest activity prevails in military circles.
