DANIEL VALLONEWEST POINT, N. Y. - Cadet Daniel Andrew Vallone, son of Mark and Christine Vallone ofEpping, was selected for the Dean's List for the spring semester at the U.S. Military Academy.Vallone graduated from Epping High School in 2003. He plans to graduate in 2007 from West Point and be comminssioned a secondlieutenant in the U.S. Army.GRANT MASONSAN ANTONIO, Texas — ArmyPvt. Grant A. Mason has deployed to Iraq in support of Operation Iraqi Freedom to engage in military operations involving U.S. and coalition forces. Operation objectives include liberating the Iraqi people, preserving Iraq as a unified state, keeping its territorial integrity intact and helping the Iraqi people begin the process of economic and political reconstruction.The soldier is regularly assigned to one of the various camps and units of the 2nd Infantry Division,wEighth U.S. Army, based in SouthKorea. Soldiers of the 2nd Infantry*Division are deployed to Iraq either to augment soldiers serving in country or to replace soldierswho have completed their tour ofduty.Mason, a fire support specialist, is the son of Kimberly A. Dunbarwof Fremont and Dean A. Mason of Littleton, Colo. He is a 2002 graduate of Epping High School.
