SANTA ANA, Calif. —1st. Lt.. Robert Smith, son of Mr. and Mrs. Wendell Smith, Fillmore, Ind., was honorably discharged today from the separation base maintained here by the Army Air Forces.Lt. Smith is a veteran of 34]months of service in the ArmyjAir Forces. He served in England as a B-17 pilot.The AAF has awarded him the Air Medal with two Oak LeafClusters. ^Lr-gradiei General Arthur E.|Easterbrook, commanding gener-^ a! of the SAAAB, declared: I“The fact that a man has serv-je i honorably with the AAF marks him among the cream of the crop. We think many of tomorrow’s leaders will spring from the outstanding young men who have made up the victorious Army Air Forces.’*
