AT CJLAREMONT.Iiis Honour the Custos, Brigadier General Moulton Barrett, and Mr3. Moulton Barrett arrived at Clare* mont shortly before eleven o’clock and the gubernatorial party, consisting of His Excellency the Odicer Administering the Government, the Hon. A. S. Jelf, C.M.G., and Mrs. 3elf and Captain Hamilton, A.D.C., arrived in front of the Church Hall, where they were received, exactly at eleven o’clock. They were received by His Honour the Custos and his wife, Sir Thomas and Lady Roxburgh, representatives of tin* Claremont Police and Scouts of the Claremont Troop.His Excellency and Mrs. Jelf were formally introduced to the prominent ladies and gentlemen present, and they both shook hands with the people called forward by the Custos. Looking around then, nne could see in the gathering: His Honour Mr. J. L. Deveaux (Resident Magistrate), Mr. Harry Stephenson (acting Chairman of the Parochial Board), and Mrs Stephen-non, Mr. Keith DeRoux, J.P., Mr. A. L. Maxwell, J.P., Mr. G. C.
