Orville RolandGets PromotionIn Army Air CorpsOrville Roland, former Greenville jslnter, who is now connected with the United States Army Air Corps, stationed in the Philippines, has been promoted to Corparal A. M, 2nd Class, it has been learned here. He is the son of Mr. and Mrs B D. Roland of this city.In an interesting letter writtento his sister, Mrs. Albert Kuhn of this city, Mr. Roland advised of his promotion and said he had signed an affidavit to remain with the service four years. He was to leave for China on a maneuver period and said that he would receive his first experience as a bombardier.Mr. Roland also pointed out that he had recently been Involved in his iii»t crack-up, ** but escaped without injury.He is attending the University of the, Philppines.
