A GOOD SOLDIER’S RECORD.Wilbur F. Loveland,the Republican can didate for County Treasurer,is a son of tbe late Reuben Loveland, of Lamar, Pa. He was born in 1841, and from tbe time he was fifteen until he enlisted in the service of his country he worked at axe making. In October 1801 he enlisted in Company E, 7th Pennsylvania cavalry and served at the front until the close of the war. He was a good soldier as any of his comrades will testify. When the Bevonth cavalry charged on the rebel battery at Rome, Georgia, Sergeant Loveland led the charge; the guns were captured, the rebels completely rooted, and many prisoners captured. When the war was closed Wilbur F. Loveland returned to his home completely broken down in health and for six years be was unable t j do work of any kind. Since 1872 he has been most of the time iu the mercantile business and is at present engaged in farming. In religion Mr. Loveland is a consistent member of the Methodist Church and enjoys the confidence and esteem of all who know him. This, citizens of Clinton county is a brief sketch of the history of the man who is asking you to vote for him for the office of County Treasurer. He is in every way worthy of ycur support.
