Maynard of the Rock Island police department.The letter, on Red Cross stationery, had been written by someone else and stated Private Maynard is In a Belgian hospital and will be unable to write for some time. No mention was made of the lejXtent of the wounds or the action in which they were incurred. Detective Maynard said a previous letter he. id received Indicated he was In Holland.Private Maynard hat been in service two years and has been overseas nine months. He formerly was employed at Downing Brothers dairy. Another brother, Guy'C. Maynard, motpr machinist’s mate second class, arrived at hlshome afr 605 Thirty-eighth street, Rock Island, last night for. a 10-day leave.
