Army LommeDdatlon MedalSpecialist Four Robert J. Gabers, 20, son of Mr. and Mrs. Gale Davis, rt. 2, Defiance, was awarded the Army Commendation Medal for meritorious achievement in a military operation against a hostile enemy force, Oct. 7 near Da Nang, Vietnam.Spec. Gabers, a medical specialist with Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 212th Combat Aviation Battalion, also has received the National Defense Ribbon.The specialist entered the Army Sept. 2, 1969 and received his basic training at Fort Campbell, Ky. His last assignment before going overseas March 1, 1970, was Fort Sam Houston, Texas. He is a 1968 graduate of Tinora High School and was employed as a maintenance mechanic at Johns-Manville Fiber Glass, Inc., Carpenter Road Plant, before his induction into the Armed Forces.His address is: Sp-4 Robert J.
