•__jNETEEN MEMBERS ARE ENLISTED IN UNITED STATES MERCHANT MARINE RESERVESNineteen employees aboard the T\ O. ships making this port, including captains and crew members, have enlisted in the U. S. merchant marine reserves and liave been commissioned in this branch of the service as lieutenant, lieutenant (jg) and ensign, respectively.All the captains who joined were commsseoned as lieutenants, the crow members to lesser titles.These commissions have been arriving from time to time since August at the personnel office ol the local naval station until the list has reached 1 9.Enlistment of the mer, in this service does not interfere with their affairs in any way, it is shown, but makes them subject tlt; call for duty at any time in case of national emergency.William I. Jackson, listed as /lieutenant (jg), having since been /promoted to the position of cap-^jdn of ferryship Flagler, will havV his commission raised to rank of lieutenant.
