eacn evening n«m wcci, closing iib eem-I slons on Oct 26.A letter has been received by the local Olobe reporter from James Reynolds, an i Everett boy. in the navy, who Is on the Mt Vernon. In which he said that he was writing for the Everett hove who were on that vessel when torpedoed off the coast of France. The boys are Al-I bert and David Jeffrey. Archie Osmond, Walter Gagel and James Reynolds. He said “We have not yet received word from home and would thank you very much If you would let the folks in Everett know through your paper that we . are none the worse for the torpedoing. We only hope it will not be very long before the injury done our ship by one ! of Frits' submarines will be repaired and we will be able to return to the United States.”Twelve local boys will he sent to Fort Williams, Me. next Monday, eight to 1 Fort Warren, Boston, on Tuesday and three to Camp Rodman, New Bedford.; Wednesday. This morning Eugene C. Taylor of 13ty Arlington st left to report to the mobilization officer at Norfolk, Va.
