Jacob M Sheads earned his reputation while working 37 years as a part time or “seasonal” employee at the Gettysburg National Military Park He worked three months each year during the summer recesses from school being a ranger andguide for the National Park Ser- * vice it became a second career for SheadsHe served as a seasonal park service employee for 39 years and earned tenured status‘You dont make any money teaching if you know what I mean So that brings up another little angle Teachers never get enough money, you ve heard enough of them complain So they have to moonlight see And I had the per feet moonlight job here. Sheads saidHe started as a guide at Fort McHenry.
