rstrIROBERT WISEFirst War DeadReturned HereAmong the first of Illinois’ World War II dead to be returned to this country, from the Pacific area for permanent burial, is Robert Wise, son of Mr. and Mrs. Boyd Wise, Hyde Park and Warren avenue Hillside Interment services will be private. Bob had been a resident of thiscommunity his entire life. He wasgraduated from Jefferson grade school and Proviso High school ’39. He joined the Seabees in November 1942, and left for overseas in February 1943. It was while in performance of his duty in New Caledonia that he was killed.He had been a member of the Boy Scouts, several basketball and baseball teams and a very active member of the First Baptist church of Bell wood. Spencer - Wise - Sherry Post of the American Legion in Hillside has been so named in his honor.Besides his father and mother.
