F. Moore Camp. No. 6, United Spanish War Veterans-of Sayre, accepted an invitation from Catlin Camp last Sunday, to fnake a fraternal visit and initiate a class of recruits. The delegation arrived about noon and were received at the hall in the Borough building.At one o'clock the guests were entertained at the Dartt Inn. after which they returned to the hall where several recruits were mastered in; the rest of the afternoon being given up to speech making, story telling and recalling incidents of Spanish War days.The party from Sayre was headed by Thos. M. Stafford. Post Commander uf the Department of Pennsylvania, and included the following comrades: Edward Snow. TimothyDrake, Alfred Cunningham, Harlow VanTassel, James VanTassel, George Atwood, Thomas Wheeler, Thos. S. Knox, William Ault, W. C Lane, Richard Sherman and Martin Dann. the latter a Civil War veteran, 91 years old and an honorary member of Moore Camp. Patrick E. Doyle, a member of Wilford Camp, of Akron, Ohio was a welcome and interested visitor.Recruits J. V. Vincent and B. G. French, of Tioga and F. C. Abernathy, of Corning were mustered in, thereby nenewing their allegiance to the flag they took upon entering the service of the United States.Catlin Camp is less than six months old and now has 29 members, which is considerably more than half the eligibies in this vicinity. It is interesting to note that we have members in three States—-Pennsylvania.
