Maryland, announces the : selection of LCS Crew 3784 of which Leonard H. Lofstuen. S2c. a former resident in your community, is a member. as the outstanding crew in the group graduating October 2. 1944. at his Training Base. Notification of this selection was sent to the man’s next of kin. his mother. Mrs. Clara Lofstuen. 147 Harrison Street. Waterloo. Iowa.“In choosing the outstanding crew in the group it was necessary to consider such points as: the crew’s military performance and bearing, appearance. promptness at drills ashore and afloat, general attitude and interest and performance at schools. Leonard H. Lofstuen is to be commended for his contributions to the excellent performance of his crew. The training was rigorous and necessarily condensed so that the competition was keen.
