This was occasioned by the bursting of a llue in one of the tubular boilers, which prevented the lighting up of the park, and no electric light could be furnished in time for the proposed battle. A large crowd had gathered as spectators, the “armies” were allprepared for the terrific struggle, and the music was stationed to reuder their inspiring strains, when it was discovered that further operations would be impossible., aud the seat of war was reluctantly abandoned by soldiers, friend and foe, and by those who would have constituted an imposing audience. But the cheering announcement was made that afl things would bA remedied by to-night, when the sham buttfle will come ofi; the p^rtietpants say, with a brilliancy that will be augmented by lust night’s failure.Grand Armj Parade.
