Gonzales, 206 Ra-mona street, returned to civilian llifc Sept. 26, after scrying in the Italian theater for 14 months in the 15th Air Force, with 93 points to his credit.Enlisting from Corona In March, 1943, Elizalde received training at Tyndal Field Gunnery school, Florida, and R. T. U. training; at Charleston, S. C. Transferred to overseas duty July 25, 1944, he served as gunner a :B-24, completing 50 missions.ove£ Italy.Elizalde’s decorations include seven Battle Stars, three Oak Leaf Clusters, the Air Afedal and ATO Ribbon,The 15th Air Force was„ morefortunate than most divisions inItaly, as to living quarters, for they i^uilt their own. Furnishing all materials tot the buildings, a skilled workman could be hired to furnish labor for completion, forrone carton of cigarettes. Consequently, Elizalde and the others in his division lived in well-built houses, with tile roofs, tile floors and some with showers installed of a make-shift variety, but showers that filled the bill.
