Smith of Pacific Junction, has been meritoriously promoted to his present rank at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Pendleton, Calif. He received the early promotion for outstanding performance of duty while attending Basic Tank Crewmem-ber’s School at the base.Smith graduated from the school after receiving instruction on the operation and maintenance of all types of tanks, including their weapons and communications systems. He is scheduled to report for duty at the Marine Corps Base, Camp Leieune, N. C.
