Posthumous meJal to Tama soldierTAMA (AP) - A Silver Star has been awarded posthumously to Sgt. Richard C. Youngbear, 26, of Tama, Iowa, who was killed last February while fighting with the 101st Airborne Division in Viet Nam.Youngbear alerted his unit to presence of the enemy by firing his machine gun, according to Army officials, and he continued firing even though he was wounded seven times.“If it had not been for his sacrifice, the unit might have been overrun,” said the citation.The citation for gallantry was presented to Youngbears father Curtis Youngbear, here Sunday night at the Presbyterian Indian Church Mission.
