Local Youth Serving In Aleutian IslandsCpl. Donald L. Smith, tl. S. A. F.t of 1311 Arapahoe id SE, is now serving with the Airways and Air' Communications Service detach-ment at Shemya air force base in the Aleutian islands chain. Cpl. Smith has been assigned duties as approach controller.The Airways and Air Comniuni-j cations Service, better known asjthe A. A. C. S., is part of the I Military Air Transport Service. A. A. C. S. is the major air communications and navigational flying aid to U. S. aircraft throughout the world.Shcyma air force base is an important link in M. A. T.’s supply route to Janan.
