shame, Sentinel, for shame,_Sew Albany Axe Works. We understand that there is a very promising prospect that the New Albany Axe Works will soon again be put into operation. Mr. Jonas Simmons, of Lockport, N. Y.* a gentleman who baa bad many years experience in the manufacture of axes and edge tools, is now, we are informed, raising a joint stock company, with a capital of one hundred thousand dollars, for the purpose of putting these extensive works into operation. There is no doubt that the enterprise would pay largely if sufficient capita! is invested in it to give the works a fair start. Axes and edge tools can be manufactured in New Albany as cheaply as at any other point in the United States. The works are supplied with the very best machinery now in use, there is a large field for the sale of the products of the works in the West and South, and if started again they will prove a success.
